A little about Melissa
Melissa(aka- Mel)
Having a background as an Aveda In Salon Educator, she has taught the latest color trends and styles. With over 20 years of experience with Aveda, Mel is known for her red/auburn tones, blonde highlighting, subtle ombres, lived in color and creative color. She also specializes in many cutting styles. She specializes in fine hair cutting and coloring. And many cuts, from sleek bobs to long, natural layers, curly hair, fun pixie cuts and bridal updos.
Melissa has done hair and makeup for model portfolios, bands, TV, web, film and magazines --both everyday looks and avant-garde as seen in Modern Salon, Lucky, Cosmo Girl and Time Out Chicago magazine. Mel has done makeup at NY Fashion week more than once. And worked with the likes of Nick Arrojo.
She has taken extensive hours of advanced education with Aveda, Goldwell, Kuene, Vidal Sassoon, and MAC in coloring, cutting, makeup, editorial styling and bridal design.

A little about Melissa
From New York Fashion Week to Northbrook, Illinois, Mel has been styling both everyday and camera-ready looks for over 20 years. As a colorist, she loves creating red/auburn tones, blond highlights, subtle ombres, grey blending, and creative colors. With a pair of shears, she specializes in the Vidal Sassoon method of cutting and is known for her sleek bobs, long natural layers and fun short cuts for both men and women. She works well with all hair types and specializes in finer hair. Mel has worked in the Chicagoland area for over 17 years as an Aveda specialist and educator; she continues to teach the latest color trends and styles to up-and-coming stylists. When she’s not in the salon, you will likely find her at a concert or music festival with her husband; or at home with her two Maincoone cats named Royal and Princess. She’s a lover of all animals and enjoys drawing, painting, reading and cooking.
