A Little about Melissa

 

Melissa(aka- Mel)

Having a background as a Salon Educator, she has taught color trends and styles. Working since 2003, Mel is known for her red/auburn tones, blonde highlighting, foilayage, grey blending and subtle lived in color.  She also specializes in many cutting styles.  She specializes in fine hair cutting and coloring. As she has fine hair as well.  And haircutting, from sleek bobs to long natural layers, wavy hair, pixie cuts and special occasion hair.

She specializes in Vidal Sassoon method of cutting and sleek bobs.

 

When she’s not in the salon, you will likely find her at a concert or music festival with her husband; or at home with her sweet Maincoone cat, Royal and THEE Crazy Orange fluffy cat, Princess Peach. She’s a lover of all animals and enjoys drawing, painting, reading and cooking.

Melissa has done hair and makeup for model portfolios, bands, TV, web, film and magazines --both everyday looks and avant-garde as seen in Modern Salon, Lucky, Cosmo Girl and Time Out Chicago magazine. Mel has done makeup at NY Fashion week more than once.   And has had the honor of working with Nick Arrojo. 

 

She has taken extensive hours of advanced education with Aveda, Goldwell, Kuene, Vidal Sassoon, and MAC in coloring, cutting, makeup, editorial styling and bridal design.
